I’ve worn these do-it-all pants for running and orienteering in temperatures below freezing, and while they’re not waterproof, the stretchy, softshell material and light brushed fleece lining stood up to the frigid conditions. I love the mobility provided by the long inseam and articulated knees, and the scuff guard at the inner ankle is a great feature for protection against trail debris, or a chain and crank if you’re a cyclist. The pant has 13-inch ankle zippers for easy on-off over shoes and two zippered hip pockets to stash your nutrition, ID and car keys. A full 360 degrees of reflective materials add safety for low-light situations. The Showers Pass Track Pants are available in both men’s and women’s sizes. $95. showerspass.com
