Revolution Cycles, a longtime provider of bicycle products and services in Washington, Missouri, has opened a second shop on Front Street. The new storefront is adjacent to the town’s Riverfront Trail and just a short distance from the Route 47 Missouri River Bridge, which has protected bike lanes and leads to the Katy Trail.

The new location offers the rental of hybrid bikes, recumbent trikes, electric bicycles, tandems, and kids’ trailers, as well as bicycle accessories, Katy Trail and Washington souvenirs, and drinks and snacks.

“Our thought was to bring some more tourism to Washington. It’s a neat place to visit and just a short ride from the Katy Trail,” said Joe Ferguson, owner of Revolution Cycles. “We thought that, instead of starting and ending out on the trail somewhere, we would have a nice place to start and end a ride here in town.

“People can enjoy riding the Riverfront Trail, around the lake at the fairgrounds, and through town,” he continued. “The more adventurous can ride over the bridge to the Katy and then to the local wineries and back. There are plenty of B&Bs to stay at here in town or nearby in Marthasville. A day trip to Hermann with a return to Washington by Amtrak is another fun adventure.”

Revolution Cycles’ Front Street store is currently open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
