A new youth camp is opening at Castlewood State Park this summer, one that promotes health and happiness through pedaling. At St. Louis Mountain Biking Camps, children 8 to 14 can improve their riding, learn trail safety, make new friends, and develop individual confidence.

“We’ve seen through our own experiences, and new research has proven, the positive effects cycling and other physical activities have on children and young adults,” said Michael Flieg, camp coach and semi-pro mountain bike racer. “That’s why we started St. Louis’ first youth mountain biking and outdoor adventure summer camp, with instruction from expert level coaches.”

After riding, kids can stick around for an afternoon of outdoor adventure, education, and games.

The instructors also offer other programs to compliment camp, such as individual or family private lessons for a more personal approach to learning, and St. Louis’ off-road Race Academy, where young adults ages 15 to 18 will improve their skills for racing, training or overall fitness.
