It’s not just shopping — it’s adventure, discovery, community, and inspiration. Welcome to St. Louis’ ultimate outdoor showcase.
Whether you’re a paddler, runner, camper, or simply outdoor-curious, the Gateway Outdoor Expo on November 15-16 has something for everyone. From hands-on demos and gear displays to youth activities and expert talks, it’s a full day of fun. No experience required.
Ready to go? Here’s how to make the most of your outing:
9:00 a.m. – Start your morning at the south end of the St. Charles Convention Center parking lot for a group run (Saturday) or bike ride (Sunday). Afterward, refuel with a light breakfast — pastries, fruit, and coffee — in the hospitality room just outside the main exhibit hall.

10:00 a.m. – Pick up your event directory as the show doors open. Flip to the exhibitor index and map your route through 150 booths featuring top outdoor brands and organizations.
10:15 a.m. – Before you dive in, check out the scavenger hunt card that came with your directory. Visit participating vendors, collect stamps, and earn a prize when you complete the challenge.
10:30 a.m. – Head to the Mountain Bike Trial Zone to test your skills on obstacles and get tips from Wheels Up Mountain Bike Clinics and Camps. Whether you’re new to the sport or a seasoned rider, it’s a can’t-miss stop for some high-energy thrills.

11:30 a.m. – Take a seat at your first Basecamp Presentation. New for 2025, this stage on the expo floor features local experts sharing stories on long-distance paddling, grassroots conservation, life-changing cycling experiences, and more. (See the full schedule here.)
12:10 p.m. – Time for lunch! Grab a hot dog, salad, or sandwich at the on-site concession stand — you’ll need the fuel for an afternoon of exploring.
1:00 p.m. – Don’t miss the Great Gear Giveaway booth, where you can enter to win outdoor gear packages worth over $1,000. Proceeds support River City Outdoors, helping strengthen our local outdoor community.
1:25 p.m. – Take on the 23-foot climbing wall at the Upper Limits booth. With routes designed to mimic real rock, it’s a safe and exciting way to test your limits.

2:00 p.m. – Get your photo taken with Santa Claus at the “Canoe with Claus” booth across from Big Muddy Adventures. Holiday spirit meets outdoor fun!
2:30 p.m. – Stop by the display of the Terrain Magazine Photo Contest winners — a showcase of regional landscapes, outdoor adventure, and local photography talent.
2:45 p.m. – Now that you’ve checked most of your boxes, take another lap through the exhibit hall with fresh eyes. There’s always more to discover. Browse new gear, connect with clubs and organizations, sign up for races and events, and find your next outdoor destination.

3:30 p.m. – Catch your second Basecamp Presentation, featuring beer from 4 Hands Brewing Co. (Saturday only). Learn about the work of River City Outdoors, meet fellow adventurers, and swap stories with others who live for trailheads and treetops.
The Gateway Outdoor Expo is for everyone — from diehard adventurers to families seeking new outdoor experiences to professionals building connections in the industry. And, best of all, entry and parking are free! Learn more at www.gatewayoutdoorexpo.com.
