In four months, Ferguson Twilight Run will celebrate its sixth year of fitness, health, wellness and community. The race is Saturday, May 16, 2015, at Plaza at 501 in Ferguson. The fun begins at 4:30 p.m. with pre-race festivities.

The race attracts runners and walkers of all fitness levels, ages and abilities. The race is capped at 2,500 participants. Early registration is encouraged.

Did you know that Ferguson Twilight Run donates proceeds to support the community? From the first race in 2010, Ferguson Twilight Run has given back to the community through scholarships for youth to participate in summer programs at the Emerson YMCA. In 2014, the beneficiary program expanded to provide help to local non-profits such as Marygrove’s recreational therapy program, Girls on the Run at Bermuda Elementary in the Ferguson-Florissant School District and Ferguson Youth Initiatives’ Earn-a-Bike program, as well as Emerson YMCA.

This year, in memory of a friend and Ferguson Twilight Run planning committee member, the beneficiary award is now the Donnie White Sr. Memorial Ferguson Twilight Run Award. Donnie passed away in September 2014. With the blessing of his family, Ferguson Twilight Run is grateful to share his spirit with the non-profit organizations in the community that support children and young adults.

The Ferguson Twilight Run is the definition of a community event, led by neighbors for neighbors. The people who walk, run, wheel in a chair, or ride in a stroller are joined together in health, wellness, fitness, community, and of course, fun.
