Big River Running Company recently celebrated the grand re-opening of its South City store, which had been under renovation since the start of March. The new sales floor has been expanded to cover 1,900 square feet, nearly doubling the size of the previous space.

“This expansion offers a better overall experience for our customers. This store has a very loyal following, so it’s very exciting for us,” said Deb Siewing, South City store manager. “There’s more room for merchandise, offering a better selection of shoes and apparel, and for hosting events and clinics.”

The store also added a treadmill for customers to test shoes and for sale associates to conduct gait analysis. This means that all four Big River locations now offer this service.

In typical Big River fashion, the grand re-opening celebration on April 12 included a number of fun and educational activities. The day started at 9:30 a.m. with a fun run around the streets of South City. Then, the first 50 customers received a Rewards Program Mystery Card with their purchase, ranging from $5 Big River gift cards to free apparel and accessories.

ProRehab was on site from 10 a.m. to noon discussing injury prevention, screenings, foam rolling and stretching. In addition, there were fittings, nutrition tasting, snacks and beverages from area restaurants, and raffles all day.
