GO! St. Louis, a local nonprofit fitness organization, welcomes back its annual Marathon Weekend, taking place April 10-11, 2021, in downtown St. Louis. Coined “St. Louis’ favorite running tradition”, the 2021 event features a “Stronger Together” theme aimed at inspiring and celebrating the strength and resolve of the community and its residents.

Marathon Weekend will include three routes – Full Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10K – all traveling through and celebrating the historic neighborhoods of St. Louis. The course will primarily travel along Great Rivers Greenway‘s Mississippi Greenway: Riverfront Trail but will feature a downtown finish at Kiener Plaza with views of the Old Courthouse and Gateway Arch.

In the same way that this year’s Marathon Weekend honors a community of people coming back together with strength and resilience, it also celebrates local businesses.

“As runners, we know that you don’t complete the race with 26 miles in mind. You do it one mile at a time,” said Mona Vespa, GO! St. Louis president. “This year, 26 generous businesses, running groups, and even individuals have stepped up to sponsor each mile of the Marathon.”

GO! St. Louis is honored to be among the first events back in the City of St. Louis. While this return to racing still won’t quite have the same feel as previous years, runners can still expect the same quality, safety, and top-of-the-line amenities that come along with every GO! St. Louis event. The event is being spread over two days to allow for maximum participation with maximum safety and COVID precautions, including significantly reduced capacity, staggered start times, and masks before/after the run.

The community of St. Louis is stronger together. Mile by mile, GO! St. Louis’ goal is to get each of their runners safely to the finish line!
