GO! St. Louis has partnered with Great Rivers Greenway to launch Summer Passport Challenge, a program that encourages runners, walkers, bikers, and even kids to get out and explore the metropolitan area’s best trails. To “stamp” their passport and earn a medal and t-shirt, participants will visit 10 of the 15 Great Rivers Greenway trails GO! St. Louis has selected.

“In the absence of organizing large in-person events, we have been working like so many organizations to be creative in executing a new way of keeping our community engaged,” said Mona Vespa, president of GO! St. Louis. “It’s time to get out and re-discover St. Louis; we want to see our runners traveling through and learning about our diverse neighborhoods and communities!”

As a part of this program, and to encourage runners to learn more about their hometown, GO! St. Louis has partnered with 15 local nonprofits whose work impacts the area surrounding each greenway or, in some cases, the whole metropolitan area. Each organization supports our community in unique and vital ways — GO! St. Louis is dedicated to highlighting their mission and work in St. Louis.

“We invite our participants to learn about the work these organizations are doing and consider donating as you travel along your passport adventure this summer,” Vespa said.

This challenge is perfect for every age and ability. Great Rivers Greenway pathways are all paved, well-marked routes with parking options and, most importantly — magnificent scenery! Visit gostlouis.org/summer-challenge/ for more information and to view the greenway maps.
