The 2020 Gateway Outdoor Expo + Summit is set for Friday and Saturday, March 27 and 28 at America’s Center Convention Complex in downtown St. Louis. The event will showcase new gear and products, interactive demos, and free sessions and seminars on a variety of active living topics — all in a festive, family-friendly environment.
Big news this year is that the event has joined forces with the GO! St. Louis Health & Fitness Expo and will be the official packet pickup location for the 2020 GO! St. Louis Marathon & Family Fitness Weekend. This means all GO! St. Louis marathoners, half marathoners, 10K runners, and marathon relay teams must visit to expo in order to get their required materials for the race. The races take place on March 28 and 29 in downtown St. Louis.
“We are incredibly excited to partner with the Gateway Outdoor Expo + Summit to provide GO! St. Louis Marathon Weekend participants with an even better, more interactive expo experience,” said Mona Vespa, president of GO! St. Louis. “The Gateway Outdoor Expo brings together the best products and organizations in the outdoor community, and we are proud to bring St. Louis’ largest running event into that equation.”
This is the first year the Gateway Outdoor Expo + Summit will be held at America’s Center, a move that will allow significantly more space for exhibits and attendees.
“Relocating to America’s Center gives us the chance to feature additional vendors and activities to inspire people to get outside and have meaningful experiences and adventures,” said Brad Kovach, expo director and editor/publisher of Terrain Magazine. “The Gateway Outdoor Expo + Summit will allow attendees to interact with leading outdoor brands, retailers, organizations, and destinations and learn how they can enjoy the natural world.”
With more than 200 exhibit booths and 15,000 attendees expected at this two-day event, the Gateway Outdoor Expo + Summit is the premier consumer show and cultural gathering for the Midwest regional outdoor community. The event will highlight activities such as running, biking, hiking, camping, climbing, and paddling, as well as adventure travel, health and wellness, and more. Special features include, but are not limited to:
- Terrain Basecamp: Free sessions and seminars in this space on the show floor will inform attendees on specific ways to enjoy the regional outdoors — and the inherent benefits of a strong outdoor lifestyle and culture. Details to follow. Sponsored by Terrain Magazine.
- Rock Climbing Wall: Test your ability on several different routes of varying difficulty. The wall is 23 feet tall, with holds and features that simulate a real rock surface. Sponsored by Upper Limits Indoor Rock Climbing Gym.
- Bicycle Demo Course. This area allows prospective buyers to try out a road, mountain, gravel, or e-bike before they buy, with simulated obstacles for off-road models

Now that there is room, it would be great to reach out to the vintage cycling enthusiasts that used to participate in the original bike expo.
Has the expo been cancelled?
Yes, we announced late last week that the event was cancelled due to the evolving COVID-19 situation.
