St. Louis Running Tour has announce the addition of a new running tour route: a running tour through the interior of the gorgeous, 1,300-acre Forest Park.

“After years and years of running the perimeter path surrounding Forest Park in St. Louis, we finally took a run through the park’s interior and were rewarded with a completely new and exciting experience,” said St. Louis Running Tour founder Joe Michaelree. “To show it off, St. Louis Running Tour is excited to begin a new, regularly scheduled, 4.5-mile route through Forest Park’s interior paths and trails. What better season to start off a route like this than Autumn?”

Beginning October 3, St. Louis Running Tour will feature the Forest Park route on the first Sunday of every month. “At 9 a.m. every first Sunday, we will start and end at the Visitors Center in the park,” said Michaelree. “Learn about the amazing history of Forest Park and the people who influenced it. But you could even run this route just for the scenery.”

Dedicated on June 24, 1876, St. Louis’ Forest Park is a not-so-hidden gem in the Midwest. On the tour, runners will experience incredible sites and views and trails “that are truly the route less traveled.” Home to five world-class cultural institutions and three golf courses, the park receives 13 million visitors annually. “But they won’t be running with you, because you will be on a route through the interior of the park, an area too often overlooked,” added Michaelree.

Private and group running tours through Forest Park are available outside of the normal tour times.
