Upper Limits in St. Louis, West County and Bloomington, Illinois, is working on a fourth location in Chesterfield that will be geared largely toward the next generation of climbers. The gym has partnered with leading climbing wall manufacturer Walltopia to create the dynamic new space, which will feature Fun Walls — amusing installations that test kids with puzzles and games, as well as the usual climbing problems to solve. The walls will be equipped with auto belays, to encourage more beginners to join in the fun, and there will also be a bouldering and traditional rope-climbing area. Fees will be hourly, with options for kids’ birthday parties and other rental opportunities. The gym is targeting a late summer/early fall opening.
