Beginning on February 13, 2017, the vehicular bridge on Glencoe Road immediately south of the Education Building in Rockwoods Reservation in Wildwood, Mo., will be closed for approximately 120 days for replacement. During this time, visitors can still utilize the Highway 109 entrances to access the Lime Kiln Trail, Turkey Ridge Trail, Wildlife Habitat Trail and picnic areas. However, in order to access the Education Center, Green Rock Trail and Rock Quarry Trail, visitors will be directed around a half-mile detour.
The Trail Among the Trees will remain accessible from both sides of the bridge. However, due to the above mentioned bridge construction, the trail may periodically be closed at the adjacent foot bridge and be limited to in-and-back use instead of the normal loop. This trail also has a different bridge out that requires through hikers to cross a ravine or turn around at the halfway point.
