The 2020 Wildwood Frozen Feet Half Marathon will take place on Saturday, January 11, 2020! The start/finish is at LaSalle Springs Middle School, 3300 Highway 109, Wildwood, MO 63038. Registration is open now, so please take advantage of the moment and sign up early … the event is limited to three hundred (300) participants and it has filled the last several years!

The run consists of 13.1 miles along several trails in the City of Wildwood including the Hamilton-Carr Greenway, the Al Foster Memorial Trail, and the Rock Hollow Trail. Trail surfaces will change between asphalt, chat, and natural surface single track trails. Past participants have criticized race organizers for referring to Frozen Feet as a trail run since only 1.5 miles are traveled on natural surface single track, however, the entire course takes place on trails built by the City of Wildwood, St. Louis County, Great Rivers Greenway (GRG) and the Department of Natural Resources. The Wildwood Half Marathon is also weather friendly to a degree. The asphalt and chat trails are still runnable in most conditions. The run/race is appropriate for runners of any level of experience, but keep in mind, it will present a subtle challenge that will definitely get attention of the most experienced!

Participants will be asked for their estimated per mile pace so the wave start can be properly arranged. The run is limited to three hundred (300) participants with the first wave starting promptly at 8:00 a.m. Usually all runners are on the course by 8:15 a.m.! Participants will encounter aid stations seven (7) times during the race that will have water available. However, runners know themselves, and their own needs, better than the race organizers. If you have a special sports drink or energy gel that fuels your body … come self-contained! Awards are given to the top three finishers in each of five (5) year age groups. There will also be awards for the top three over-all male and female finishers. All registered participants will receive the popular heavy hooded sweatshirt, great for keeping warm before and after races! Finisher medals are given to all that cross the finish line and participants will be spoiled with food and drink before and after the race! Race organizers want to put on a race that is challenging, fun, adventurous, and affordable ….. and it is honestly felt the Wildwood Frozen Feet Half Marathon fills that bill! Registration is only $45.00! You will not find a half marathon race at that cost anywhere!

Online registration is open now, and paper applications are available if you choose to utilize snail mail by sending your registration form to the City of Wildwood, 16860 Main Street, Wildwood, MO 63640.

Packet pick-up will be Thursday, January 9, 2020, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., or Friday, January 10, 2020, between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. at Wildwood City Hall (16860 Main Street, Wildwood, MO 63040), or at LaSalle Springs Middle School on race day between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m.
