Have you always wanted to train for a half marathon or marathon but don’t know where to start? Big River is dedicated to helping you achieve your personal goals. The secret begins with training smart and safe. Join us to learn about the big picture of half and full marathon training with a clinic led by experienced Big River Personal Coaches and members of Big River Running’s knowledgeable staff. Our clinic will help you build the foundation for a successful training program. Big River can help you train smart – getting you to the start line with the confidence to reach your goals! This clinic is perfect for runners who are tackling the half marathon or marathon for the first time.

Topics discussed will include:

  • Fundamentals of a half and full marathon training plan
  • Pacing
  • Basic Injury Prevention
  • Motivation
  • Essential gear
  • Expert tips on how to make it to the big day healthy and ready to race!

You also get to participate in a coach-guided track workout!
As part of your clinic fee, you are invited to participate in our first “Thursday Workout” for our Training Team, which will be held on Thursday, January 25 at 6:30 p.m. at either Vianney High School or Meramec Community College. We’ll be doing a speed workout on the track to benefit and support half and full marathon training. A coach will guide everyone through the workout. The workout is appropriate for runners of all paces and is a great way to get in a workout in a fun, non-intimidating environment.

Clinic is on Tuesday, Jan. 9 from 6 – 7 p.m.
Workout is on Thursday, Jan. 25* from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.

The cost of the clinic is $20.  Includes participation in the Thursday Workout on Jan. 25.
