DESCRIPTION:Big Shark “Veteran Racer” Butthead (aka- Josh Johnson)- a previous season’s A Race winner received a dog a long\, long time ago named “Bubba.” Butthead thought Bubba was a puppy\, which it/he was definitely not. Actually\, many people at first mistook Bubba for some sort of Hog\, (perhaps a razorback?)\, but that is a different issue entirely. Although we enjoyed Bubba we did not think Bubba was going to live past another cross season. We really didn’t. He was NOT a puppy. So this series is dedicated\, again\, to Bubba. Sadly\, Bubba passed away many summers ago- despite being commemorated for the past decade. We miss him Bubba\, although in truth he really had exceeded all of our expectations by remaining somewhat alive for as long as he did. He was adorable\, albeit weird.

DESCRIPTION:Combining three of the Missouri River Valley’s top outdoor activities — cycling\, camping\, and canoeing —the MO50 is an all-inclusive adventure that will allow you to experience the iconic Katy Trail and Missouri River\, with an overnight stay in Klondike Park near Augusta\, Mo. Your adventure starts on Saturday\, October 11\, in St. Charles\, Mo.\, where you will hop on your bike and pedal approximately 25 miles on the crushed limestone Katy Trail\, the longest rail-trail in the country\, with guides leading the way. The mostly flat ride will stop for lunch midway at the Weldon Spring Trailhead before proceeding to Klondike Park. \nUpon arrival at Klondike\, you will head to the designated campsite and set up your tent\, which will have been transported for you from St. Charles. You are then free to explore the trails\, bluffs\, beach\, and lake at Klondike Park or head into Augusta for drinks at a local brewery and winery. As evening rolls around\, we will prepare a rustic meal cooked over the fire\, washed down with plenty of cold beverages. On Sunday\, October 12\, after a hot breakfast\, you will break camp and head to the Klondike Boat Ramp\, where you will hop in a multi-person voyageur canoe and begin your guided return trip downstream. The fleet will again stop midway for lunch\, this time on a Missouri River beach or sandbar\, before continuing toSt. Charles and celebrating with a few more cold beverages once everyone is safely ashore.

DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the 14th edition of the DPR Trail Half Marathon\, Marathon\, 50Km\, and 50 Mile along the beautiful and fast Des Plaines River Trail in Lake County\, Illinois\, starting and finishing at Half Day Forest Preserve. \nThe DPR Trail is truly awesome and the color changes are OMG-worthy! You’ll run through beautiful alternating lush forests and open wetlands on a very flat\, wide\, crushed gravel trail\, free of roots and rocks. All of the major road crossings are managed by way of bridges or viaducts (with only 4 minor road crossings along the whole 50K/50 Mile course\, 2 on the Marathon course\, and none for the Half Marathon course). \nWith expected cool temperatures\, flat terrain\, and ideal running surface\, you’ll find this trail to be extremely fast\, which is perfect for a personal best or a Boston Qualifying time. (The Marathon is a Boston Qualifier!) Come out and join us for a great run!

DESCRIPTION:Big Shark “Veteran Racer” Butthead (aka- Josh Johnson)- a previous season’s A Race winner received a dog a long\, long time ago named “Bubba.” Butthead thought Bubba was a puppy\, which it/he was definitely not. Actually\, many people at first mistook Bubba for some sort of Hog\, (perhaps a razorback?)\, but that is a different issue entirely. Although we enjoyed Bubba we did not think Bubba was going to live past another cross season. We really didn’t. He was NOT a puppy. So this series is dedicated\, again\, to Bubba. Sadly\, Bubba passed away many summers ago- despite being commemorated for the past decade. We miss him Bubba\, although in truth he really had exceeded all of our expectations by remaining somewhat alive for as long as he did. He was adorable\, albeit weird.

We have miles and miles of great riding for all levels of riders from mellow flow to rugged all mountain boulder strewn rowdiness. The Midwest’s all-inclusive mountain bike weekend with tons of fun riding; both professionally guided and self-led\, amazing food and drink\, awesome tree-house accommodations\, and tons of outdoor adventures Friday\, Saturday and Sunday. \nFTF has something for everyone\, from those wanting to ride every minute of the day to those tagging along to enjoy some time in the great outdoors. The list of fun evolves each year and is part of what makes Fat Tire Fest such a fun event for EVERYONE. This year the list includes 30+ miles of onsite trails to explore at any time\, including the 10+ miles of fun and flowy trails handcrafted specifically for MTB riding that weave thru the 800+ acres of CampO property.
