SUMMARY:Macklind Mile
DESCRIPTION:The Macklind Mile Story: \nThe Macklind Mile is more than just getting outside…you can run fast or stroll slow…you can race to compete or move to complete. There will be music\, food and activities following the short one mile course which makes it perfect for hanging out in the streets of South City St Louis with other kids and kids-at-heart. Keep in touch with us on our Facebook page. \nIf this is your first time at the Macklind Mile\, know this: it’s a one mile distance that everyone can do regardless of running or walking\, and the post-race party is just as important as the distance covered! You can come to run the downhill\, one mile course to try and set a personal record\, or you can walk it with your family pet – but either way you’re partying at the finish line! \nIn 2026\, the Macklind Mile will play host to the RRCA 1 Mile National Championships! We look forward to continuing to host their great events. \nELITE RUNNERS: A prize purse of up to $3700 will be on the table for Elite Events!

SUMMARY:Freedom Race 100
DESCRIPTION:The Missouri River Freedom Race is a 100 km / 63 mile canoe and kayak race on the Missouri River that will challenge even the toughest of competitors. Racers must battle heat\, humidity\, and unrelenting headwinds as they make their way from Boonville to Jefferson City. Though the price paid by pain is worth it for the beautiful scenery and an excellent post-race ceremony at the finish line. \n  \nThe finish line is the late Joe Wilson’s Serenity Point (literally touching the Noren boat ramp) in Jefferson City\, the state capital of Missouri\, which affords a beautiful view of the capital building. \n  \nAs the unofficial “prelim” to the MR340\, the Missouri River Freedom Race is the perfect race at just the right time in relation to the “big dance”. You will race on an important leg of the race\, and experience the brutal headwinds of “Manitou Alley”. You and your crew will get the chance to see some key MR340 checkpoints such as Cooper’s Landing\, Hartsburg\, and Noren. \nAll racers will receive a long sleeve athletic shirt. Trophies for the top 3 in each class\, and medals for all racers. \nMust register by May 15 in order to guarantee a shirt! \nFree for all racers\, crew\, and families: Grilled hot dog buffet with water\, pop\, fruit\, and snacks. Raffle prizes based on current sponsorships.
