2nd annual RIDE THE HILLS

The Course: Ride The Hills is a 30-mile endurance ride features the 5-premier hills in SW Joplin (Missouri) — McClelland, Castle, Grand Falls, Beef Branch and Douglas Fir. The return loop includes the reverse hillside of McClelland, Castle, and Grand Falls, so in total riders face 8 significant climbs. Total gain is over 1,400 feet.
Start/Finish: The loop ride begins/ends in McClelland Park at 8:30 a.m. The best female/male time for the 2017, inaugural ride was 1:40:26.
The Event: Ride The Hills… for Those Who Took the Hills is the complete name of the event for a fundraiser for the veteran support programs of Compass Quest. This is not a race, but an endurance test of cycling skill.
Rider Bibs: Riders will carry a special bike bib which will bear the name of a local loved-one who is deployed in defense of our great nation.
Event Date: Ride The Hills will be held each year on the Saturday before Halloween. Tis will typically be the last Saturday of October, at the end of the competitive and distance cycling year.
