Two new outdoor stores are expected to sprout in the greater St. Louis area this spring, adding even more access and expertise for new and experiences enthusiasts alike.

Owners Adam Scott and Erica Webb plan to open the Mountain Bike Shed in Eureka, Missouri, in early April. Located in the Hilltop Village Shopping Center, the shop will be less than two miles from historic downtown Eureka and a short spin from the single-track trails at Greensfelder County Park. Shoppers can expect a fleet of mountain, gravel, dirt and e-bikes and an array of mountain bike-specific gear at launch, with more “boutique brands” added as time goes on.

Married couple Jason and Mandi Gray are putting the finishing touches on Kamp, a new “explorer boutique” in the Cherokee Street district of St. Louis. Starting this March, it will be selling apparel, backpacks, hiking gear and more. It will also have a classroom space for learning about topics like camping and photography, plus lectures and other touring programs.

Sadly, after 25 years of serving the local cycling community, West County Cycles on Clarkson Road in Ellisville, Missouri, permanently shut its doors in February. No immediate cause for the closure was given.
